Youth on the Air (YOTA) activities in Türkiye began in December 2014 with the call sign TC7YOTA. This initiative was spearheaded by two young Turkish radio enthusiasts, Furkan (TA7H) and Gölkem (TA7AZC), who organized the first YOTA events in the country. On the first day of 2015, we started operating under the TC7YOTA call sign, which remained active for three months. In December of the same year, we participated in the YOTA December activity, during which we made approximately 4,000 QSOs (contacts). This event, coordinated by Furkan and Gölkem, was a significant achievement for the young participants.

In December 2016, they once again took part in the YOTA December activity, representing our country admirably. Furkan and Gölkem continued to expand their team with new young members. In 2022, the YOTA team, using the YOTA call sign, became the first Turkish station to earn the DXCC (Diploma of the Century Club) and proudly showcased this accomplishment on their qrz.com profile. That same year, they organized an award program through the TADX site and established the first YOTA station on the QO-100 satellite in Türkiye.
