TC40A - 40th Anniversary of the Ankara Radio Amateur's Club YM2KA

Antrak Ankara Radio Amateurs Club is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
A one-month event will be held.

Antrak, established on July 25, 1985, was founded by a group of passionate individuals dedicated to amateur radio. Among our founding members were Göktay Alpman TA2R SK, Nursun Akıncı TA2N, Ufuk Türkeri TA2AS SK, and Suha Aktar TA2G SK.

These visionary and knowledge-driven individuals were at the forefront of their time, embracing the latest technologies and pioneering groundbreaking projects.

Antrak made significant contributions to Turkish amateur radio, introducing pioneering systems such as the first APRS packet radio system and the first NXDN repeater. In 1995, the club was recognized as a public-benefit association, paving the way for its continued growth.

Unlike many other clubs and associations that expand through branches, Antrak chose to remain focused on its core location, utilizing seminars, educational events, and workshops to maximize productivity. Their legacy continues to inspire and influence amateur radio enthusiasts today.

Antrak operates a diverse range of active units, including VHF, UHF, and DMR repeater systems, HF stations spanning 40 to 6 meters, APRS systems, weather and lightning detectors, and LoRa satellite stations. In line with its innovative spirit, Antrak has also launched new QO-100 and SatNOGS satellite ground stations.

We honor our esteemed elders who instilled in us the spirit of amateur radio and continue to walk the path they laid out. Our callsign, YM2KA, goes on-air every Saturday, connecting us with our valued fellow amateurs.
